Nail Trends 2027: The Colours and Designs Coming Next, and Versions You Can Actually Wear

Scrolling before bed, you spot a set of glossy brown nails from somewhere far away and save it. Then the questions start. Will this really be the look everyone wants? Will it suit your hands? Can the salon near you even do it? This guide gathers the nail trends for 2027 from the fashion runways and the trend reports published in late 2026, sorts out which colours and designs are likely to stay and which will come and go, and shows how each one can be done at our salon, with the technique and the price.
The catch with following nail trends is that most of the photos come from cold countries. The nails are styled with fur coats, leather gloves and candlelight. Put the same nails on a hand in Thailand, in a T-shirt under the three o'clock sun, and some look even better than in the picture, while others suddenly feel heavy.
Trends also come in two kinds: the ones that last several seasons and the ones that burn out in a few weeks. Once you know which is which, you can choose your next set without regretting it later.
Where these 2027 predictions come from
Nail trends do not appear out of nowhere. Most start on the fashion runways, then nail product brands and beauty magazines pick them up and spread them. This guide draws on five groups of sources, all read in September 2026.
- The New York Fashion Week runways for Fall/Winter 2026, shown in February, with the nail looks summarised by the fashion site Coveteur.
- The ProNails trend report for Autumn/Winter 2026-2027, from a brand that makes products for professional nail artists, published in July 2026.
- THE WED magazine's 10 nail trends for 2027, published in early September 2026.
- Vogue Thailand's round-up of 2026 nail trends for Thai women.
- The colour forecasters: WGSN with Coloro, who have already named their colour of the year for 2027, and Pantone.
The rule behind the predictions is simple. A trend that shows up again and again, on the runway, in a brand report and in the magazines, usually lasts longer than one with a single source, because it means designers, colour makers and the people wearing it are all moving the same way.
1. Milky sheer nudes and healthy-looking nails
At Marc Jacobs and Altuzarra in New York, the nail teams kept nails looking natural, with little or no colour or a shade close to skin. ProNails calls the trend nail care as the new skincare, and both THE WED and Vogue Thailand point to milky nudes and clean, sheer nails.
This one fits working life beautifully. It looks right at the office, at a temple ceremony or meeting your elders, and as the nail grows out, the gap at the base is barely visible.
How we do it at the salon. A single nude or sheer pink gel colour costs 200 baht for a full hand. For a soft pearly glow like in the photo, the pearl colour group is 250 baht, or a sheer cat eye is 400 baht. If your natural nails are thin or break easily, a rubber base (200 baht, colour not included) makes them look and feel stronger, which fits the healthy-nail idea perfectly. Read how it differs from builder gel in rubber base vs builder gel.

2. Chocolate and espresso brown
If we had to pick the one colour most likely to last through 2027, it would be brown, because it turns up almost everywhere. Vogue Thailand says chocolate brown makes hands look fairer, ProNails puts chestnut and espresso in its quiet luxury winter palette, and last winter's trend lists already included a velvety chocolate brown.
Deep brown looks more expensive than black, softer than red, and it pairs wonderfully with gold. If you have never dared to wear a dark shade, brown is the safest first step.
How we do it at the salon. A single brown colour is 200 baht. For something a little different, like the photo on the right, wear brown on every nail and add a chrome finish to just one finger (40 baht per finger). If your skin is two-toned or darker, a reddish brown or milk chocolate flatters it more than a greyish brown. More in nail colours that flatter your skin tone.

3. Wine red, deep red and burgundy
On the runways of Cinq à Sept and Pamella Roland, deep red came in both matte and glossy finishes, and Pamella Roland also did it as a cat eye. ProNails calls this the return of expressive colour, with power reds, plums and fuchsia, after years of nude nails dominating the feed.
Deep red suits the end of the year in Thailand especially well, because it lines up with the season of parties, weddings and New Year. If you are looking for nails for those events, there are more ideas in New Year nail colours and Christmas nail designs.
How we do it at the salon. A plain wine red is 200 baht and a wine red cat eye for a full hand is 400 baht. The design on the right, with burgundy fading in only at the tips over a nude base, uses the ombre technique at 400 baht. It is easy to wear to work, because the base of the nail stays nude.

4. Cat eye with a soft glow instead of a sharp line
Cat eye nails are not going anywhere, but the look is changing. ProNails says that this winter a velvet cat eye, with the shimmer spread softly across the whole nail, takes over from the single sharp band of light, and suggests pairing it with seasonal shades such as brown or burgundy. The Zoe Report's round-up of last winter's trends also had cat eye on its list.
The good news is that we do this technique every day. The difference lies in how the magnet is used: the nail artist spreads the shimmer across the nail instead of gathering it into one line. Just tell us whether you want a soft glow or a sharp line.
How we do it at the salon. A full hand of cat eye is 400 baht, or 500 baht with a French tip on top of the cat eye. We have more than 536 gel shades, and if you cannot decide on a colour, see ten popular cat eye shades with real photos in cat eye nails in 10 popular colours.

5. Muted blue, navy and Luminous Blue, the colour of 2027
The dark horse of 2027 is the blue family. WGSN and Coloro, two colour forecasters used by fashion brands worldwide, announced back in mid-2025 that their colour of the year for 2027 is Luminous Blue, a vivid blue that recalls the lapis lazuli stone, and they recommend it as a lead colour in cosmetics.
In Thailand, Vogue Thailand named muted blue one of the standout nail colours of 2026: a blue that is not bright or sugary, calm and cool like a favourite denim shirt. ProNails also has grey-blue in its winter palette.
Our reading is that blue will arrive next year in two lanes. People who like it simple will choose a plain muted blue, and people who like shimmer will choose a navy cat eye, which is the closest to Luminous Blue.
How we do it at the salon. A plain muted blue is 200 baht and a full hand of blue cat eye is 400 baht. In the photo below, navy cat eye alternates with nude nails and dots. The dots are simple painting at 10 baht per finger.

6. Chrome, metallics and gold
On the New York runways, Bronx and Banco and Private Policy used metallic and chrome nails, while Kim Shui and Sergio Hudson went for gold. THE WED calls it the space age trend: chrome on short, clean nails that looks modern but still works every day.
What stands out is that chrome is no longer only for long pointed nails. It has moved onto short nails, so even if you use your hands a lot, you can wear this trend. More short-nail ideas in gel designs for short nails.
How we do it at the salon. A full hand of chrome powder is 600 baht, which already includes the base colour underneath. For chrome on just a few fingers, it is 40 baht per finger plus the base colour. For a rose gold chrome French tip like the photo below, send us the picture and we will price it for you.

7. Micro French and the new French
French tips never really leave, but in 2027 the line gets thinner. Vogue Thailand calls it the micro French, a tip line so fine it looks drawn with the very tip of a brush. The runways of LaQuan Smith and ASHLYN played with chrome French and skinny black French tips.
A fine French looks polished without trying, from a work day to a wedding. If you love this look, there are 20 more understated designs in 20 elegant gel nail designs.
How we do it at the salon. A French tip on a plain colour is 400 baht, and on a cat eye base it is 500 baht. The tip line can be white, gold, black or chrome.

8. 3D texture, lace and cut-crystal effects
Both reports talk about nails with more texture. THE WED lists lace patterns on a sheer base and single painted flowers raised off the nail, and ProNails describes Baccarat ribbed-glass nails: clear gel sculpted into vertical ridges like cut crystal, laid over a burgundy or charcoal velvet cat eye.
This will probably stay a niche rather than go mainstream, because fewer sources mention it than brown or chrome, and it takes longer to do. But if you want nails people ask to hold at a party, this is it.
How we do it at the salon. 3D sculpting is 50 baht per finger, on top of the plain colour or cat eye underneath. The photo on the right is an AI idea, not our work. If you like it, send it to us first and we will tell you how close we can get.

9. Tortoiseshell, fine stripes and mix-and-match nails
These three come from THE WED's list for 2027, and we think they are the easiest to wear in Thailand.
- Tortoiseshell in caramel, amber and espresso. It suits gold jewellery and goes the same way as the brown trend above.
- Fine stripes: thin lines with uneven spacing in quiet colours, which read more like design than busy nail art.
- Mix and match: a different design or colour on each nail, all in the same muted family, like a well-edited wardrobe.
We do not yet have real photos that match tortoiseshell or fine stripes exactly, so the first two pictures below are AI ideas you can send us to recreate. Mix and match we have done many times, such as caramel cat eye with dots and a bow, or brown alternating with milky marble.
How we do it at the salon. Two or three plain colours for a full hand are 250 baht, plus painting at 30 baht per finger, or full-nail painting at 50 baht per finger.

Pantone has not named its 2027 colour yet
Many people search for nail colours based on the Pantone Color of the Year. Pantone usually announces the next year's colour in early December. The 2026 colour, Cloud Dancer, a soft white, was announced on 4 December 2025, and it was the first time Pantone had ever picked a white. As we write this, the 2027 colour has not been announced. Once it is, we will add it to this guide along with how it can be done as a gel colour.
In the meantime, if you like this year's Cloud Dancer, that soft white makes a lovely milky white manicure, which fits trend number 1 perfectly.
Which trends will last, and which will fade fast
Counting how many sources each trend appears in, they fall into three groups.
- Here to stay, worth doing: chocolate brown, deep red, cat eye, chrome, French and milky nude. Each appears in at least three sources, and some have been on trend for several seasons already.
- Rising, worth watching: the blue family, backed by both the colour forecasters and a Thai magazine. Expect to see it much more by mid-2027.
- Niche, beautiful but not for everyone: raised cut-crystal, tortoiseshell and tiny lettering. Each has a single source and suits someone who wants to stand out at one event more than everyday wear.
This is our reading of the sources we have, not a promise. Real trends depend on the people wearing them too. What we can say for sure is that if you choose from the first group, your nails will not look dated at any point this year.
Matching a trend to your hands and your life
- Office work or meeting clients: milky nude, micro French, or burgundy fading in at the tips.
- Busy hands, dishes every day: short nails in brown or chrome. Dark shades look neat on short nails, and nudes hide the gap at the base as your nails grow.
- Parties or weddings at the end of the year: wine red cat eye, or brown cat eye paired with gold.
- Want a change but not ready for bold colour: a plain muted blue looks new without being loud.
Every set comes with our 7-day care period, so you can try a new trend with peace of mind. We take 3 bookings a day, between 09:00 and 18:00, so if you have a special day coming up and want a trend design, book early to get the date you want.

The trend you saved can be your next set
That photo you saved before bed does not have to stay on your phone. Most of next year's trends use techniques we already do every day: cat eye, chrome, French and hand painting. All that is left is choosing the shade that suits your hands.
You might be the first of your friends in espresso brown, or the only one at the party with navy cat eye nails, the same blue the colour forecasters named the colour of the year.
